About Longlight Candles

Longlight Candle Systems are manufactured and marketed by Longlight Candles, LLC.

During his travels to Germany in the 1960s, Dale Cox saw coiled beeswax candles and was intrigued by their beauty, uniqueness, and wonderful aroma. The golden-brown candles were approximately 20 feet long and formed into horizontal coils. Having never seen them in the United States, he developed a long-standing desire to produce a comparable coiled candle system.

In the early 2000s, Mr. Cox spent more than a year developing the candle. Producing a flexible, 20-foot beeswax candle while preserving the elegance and desirable qualities of beeswax proved difficult. Since dipping or molding a candle of that length was impractical, the work included designing and building a specialized beeswax extrusion system.

The project also required a unique base and candleholder capable of handling the long coil. The result was the Longlight Candle System: a long-burning beeswax candle, decorative base, and holder with a self-extinguishing feature that puts out the flame when it reaches the holder.

In March 2007, Longlight Candles, LLC purchased the exclusive rights to the design, manufacture, and marketing of Longlight Candle Systems.
